Our main goal is to see Preschool, Kindergarten and Elementary students to be able to speak daily conversation with basic skills in English language, and help build their character through fun, active and creative learning methods.
“Thematic is our approach”
The team sets the theme for the year. All activities are built upon the target theme. The vocabulary, the songs, the stories, the learning activities and games are all interconnected with the theme. Each theme integrates character building. Students practice English language both in big group and small group. A volunteer teacher facilitates the learning for each learning time.
ONE LANGUAGE is the target medium of instruction when we teach. Immersion to language is the fastest way to learn English. The students listen to and observe what they see from the teacher and are guided to understand and apply the learning.
TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE is the technique we use when teaching. Facial expressions, body language, physical movement and hands-on experience are the best way to communicate.
ANSWER BACK IN ENGLISH. This is the easiest way to build the listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
TRANSLATION comes at the end. Vocabulary building is supported by lists of new vocabularies and is translated, so the students can review at home with their parents.
Twice a month, every 2nd Sunday and 3rd Sunday, FACE meets in Hope Central located in the community. All learning materials (ATK) are provided by YSKB office.
Once a year, we conduct a special program to uphold Indonesia’s Independence by playing varied games (Lomba).
We also reward the excellent participation, performances of the students, and acknowledge their consistent attendance by bringing them to a field trip or outbound activities outside the city.
